Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Normal and Rush?
Both are the same service — one of our accountants files your completed return with BIR on your behalf, under an authorization you provide at checkout. Normal turns it around in 2–3 calendar days; Rush in 12–24 hours, for a higher fee. Either way, you're responsible for paying your actual BIR tax due directly to BIR.
Does paying you pay my BIR tax due?
No. The amount you pay us is a service fee only — it's separate from your actual BIR tax due, which you remit directly to BIR through BIR's own official payment channels. We never collect that amount.
What happens if my deadline is too close for Rush?
Normal and Rush each have a minimum turnaround window before your BIR deadline, shown when you select a tier — Rush can't be offered if there genuinely isn't enough time left for even a fast turnaround to finish before your deadline. If that happens, Normal may still be available depending on its own window; once the deadline itself has passed, both tiers remain available (with late-filing penalties applying as usual).
Is my TIN safe?
Your TIN is encrypted at rest in our database. Every time our staff accesses your full TIN to file your return, it's logged — including who accessed it and when. Uploaded files (filing confirmations, etc.) are stored privately and only accessible via short-lived, authenticated links.
What if I need to file late?
We automatically estimate late-filing surcharge and interest based on your deadline, so you can see the estimated total before filing. Our staff still files it for you, just after the original deadline. The actual BIR penalty is determined by BIR, not something we control or waive.
Do you support BMBE-registered businesses?
Yes. If your business profile has an active Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) certificate, we apply BMBE income tax exemption handling where applicable, and remind you before your certificate expires so the exemption doesn't lapse.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, if requested before our staff has begun work on your filing. Once an accountant has begun preparing or filing your return, the fee becomes non-refundable, reflecting the work already performed — except at our discretion, or if we're unable to complete the filing due to our own error, in which case we provide a refund or a free re-filing.
How do I reach out if I have a question or concern?
Email us at support@buwis.ph and we'll get back to you.
